Week beginning - Monday 23rd May

On Tuesday we had a wonderful day  at Africa Alive, Kessingland. We arrived by bus at 10.30am and began exploring the park, looking at all the different animals that  were there. I asked the children to pay particular attention to where they animals originate from as this links closely to our geography learning. At about 1pm we had out picnic and it poured with rain! After lunch we continued to look around the zoo at the animals that we had not yet seen. Shortly after this we went into the Discovery Centre where we saw the reptiles! After that we played on the play area with Year 1 and the Catfield children before jumping abroad the train for a tour of the park! Before we went home we went and saw the lions. We arrived back to school at 5.30pm!

Year 2 worked with Mrs Pell to undertake some Jubilee crafts!

This week we have been consolidating our geography learning. We recapped our recent geography learning and presented it using large paper, questions and spider diagrams! They were able to recall lots of wonderful learning.

We have been exploring the size and shapes and a variety of leaves this week in art. The children collected 4 leaves each, they replicated their leaves onto a variety of paper and presented them in their books.

This week we have also enjoyed sketching and painting the Queen!
