This week we recognised the importance of celebrating Black History Month. I spoke to the children about the important of these and the reasons behind why we celebrate Black History Month. We looked at some examples of famous people who are celebrated during this time.  In History this week we looked at the history of toys. The children kindly brought in toys they play with now and toys that their Grandparents perhaps played with when they were younger. We sorted the toys into old and new. The children shared information about the toys they brought it and we looked for clues that determine it's age.    Have a lovely half term. Miss Blake

This week in History we have been looking at how foods have changed over time. At the beginning of the week the children taste tested a variety of foods: potted meat, dumplings and rock cakes. The children evaluated these against their senses.       .This afternoon the children followed a recipe to make drop scones. The children used the scales and jugs for measuring before cooking their batter with Miss Coles. The children enjoyed eating their drop scones afterwards.
