In Maths this week we have moved onto multiplication and division. On Monday we began by focusing our learning around equal groups. The children were given a pile of cubes and asked to apply their problem solving skills to arrange them into equal groups. We then moved onto representing repeated addition and multiplication using pictorial representations.  In Computing this week the children learnt how to open a Microsoft Word document. They then inserted a text box. Inside the text box the children wrote their dinosaur name. I then modelled to the children how to change the size, colour and style of the font. They worked superbly in their pairs to complete this task.  To consolidate our History learning today, the children were invited to make a dinosaur skeleton out of bones; they were allowed to use as many bones as they wishes, on one condition... for every bone they used, they had to write a fact about Mary Anning on it. The children were able to recall some wonderful information

Mrs Pell introduced the children to procession instruments this week in music; they had a wonderful time exploring! In History this week we spent some time consolidating our knowledge and considering everything we had learnt in History about Mary Anning and her life. The children answered 3 key questions; the children were encouraged to include as much detail as they could in their answers.  Earlier in the week the children painted their traced dinosaurs. They have worked exceptionally hard of this piece of artwork. Their dinosaur paintings are going to be their front covers of their Learning Journals.  This afternoon we made salt dough. The children used the salt dough they had made to create fossils, bones, skeletons etc. They were exceptionally creative with their designs.
