Week beginning - Monday 7th February

In English this week we have started looking at Kenning's poems. We shared lots of dinosaur themed Kenning's poems. In partners the children learnt a dinosaur Kenning poem and performed it to the rest of the class. After half term we will be learning about the features of a Kenning poem and planning and writing our own.

Week beginning - Monday 15th November

In Science this week we have been looking at the properties of materials. The children have been introduced to new vocabulary, allowing them to discuss a variety of properties of materials. Before the lesson we recapped our understanding of objects and materials. The children matched the property with the definition of the property.   In Maths this week we have been adding and subtracting using base 10, tens frames and number lines. The children's learning was extended by them crossing through tens and learning the method of exchanging.  On Wednesday we continued our learning around Hundertwasser in Art. We went into the outside area to collect evidence of nature. The children were able to recall what they had learnt about Hundertwasser from their previous lesson and knew that nature and the outside made Hundertwasser happy therefore he chose to draw and paint nature. Week beginning - Monday 28th February 2022

We have had a lovely few days celebrating World Book Day this week. On Thursday the children were invited to come into school in their pyjamas and bring in their favourite book. During the day we had an opportunity to share each others books. The children were encouraged to complete a verbal book review, discussing what their liked about their book, the author and illustrator etc. Today we invited the families into class to share some stories with their children. Thank you to all the families who supported this event with us.
