Week beginning - Monday 14th March 2022

This week the children designed teapot invitations for their Mummy's and Nanny's to invite them to Afternoon Tea at school next week to celebrate Mothers Day!

We have been thinking about our environment this week and ways that we can help our local community. The class chose to write letters to the church, asking them for donations of litter picking equipment so that we can go litter picking in the village.

Last week we learnt about 2D shapes, this week we have been learning about 3D shapes. Today we have been sorting the shapes using a Venn Diagram. The children worked very hard to use the correct mathematical terminology.

In Science we are learning about Personal Hygiene. We have planned an experiment to see whether all drinks have a negative impact on our teeth. The children made predictions for our big question first. I then showed them the resources they had available and asked them to plan an experiment. We shared our ideas before recording what we were going to do. The children identified the Scientific Enquiry type to be Fair Testing and the Scientific Skills, Observing and Concluding. Make sure you read new weeks blog to see our experiment taking place!

Last week the children designed a dinosaur egg, this week the children have begun paper mache-ing!
