Week beginning - Monday 21st February 2022

This week in maths we have been focusing our learning on statistics. On Monday we learnt about tally charts and recording data. The following day we went into the village to collect our very own data! We walked to the duck pond and collected data about the traffic; using tally's, we recorded each time we saw a: car, van, lorry, tractor, bus, bike or motorbike. Using the data we had collected, the children then made their own pictograms. We are going to continue looking at tables, graphs and charts and the data we have collected.

In English this week we have continued looking in-depth at the different features of a Kenning's poem. The children also used dictionaries to support themselves in finding out the meanings of some dinosaur-specific language.

In geography the children worked in small groups to research a specific continent. After collecting their information, each group had the opportunity to teach the rest of the class what they had found out. The children recorded independently.
