Week 4 - Monday 27th September


On Tuesday we went for a walk around Sutton to identify human and physical features within the local area. The children were able to extend their learning by explaining why the features were either human or physical. They used geographical terminology when reasoning their answers.

Week beginning - Monday 16th May 2022

  In PE this week we have been learning how to effectively throw and catch. The children were then challenged to catch in a variety of ways.  In art on Tuesday, the children identified and classified a variety of materials using a Carroll diagram. We discussed the various combinations that there could be and then the children chose the headings they wanted to use.  After we had completed our art on Tuesday. The children had ice creams, sauce and sprinkles to celebrate 3 SATs tests being completed so far! On Wednesday we walked to the post box to deliver the postcards that we wrote last week. The children were really excited to be able to share their work with their families!  In geography this week the children have been identifying and comparing the human and physical features of hot and cold countries. Week beginning - Monday 7th February

In English this week we have started looking at Kenning's poems. We shared lots of dinosaur themed Kenning's poems. In partners the children learnt a dinosaur Kenning poem and performed it to the rest of the class. After half term we will be learning about the features of a Kenning poem and planning and writing our own.

Week 2 - Monday 13th September 2021

This week we enjoyed being Geographers! Using a map of the school the children negotiated their way round and decided whether different features within the school grounds were human or physical. We shared a Powerpoint presentation to remind ourselves of what human and physical features were, along with the examples on the Powerpoint, the children were able to give their own examples too. The children used the map that I had made for them but were very resourceful in adding additional diagrams and labels to their maps.
