Week 1 - Monday 6th September

Welcome to our first blog as Year 2's.  

On Monday we consider the words Ready, Respect and Safe. These words make up our new class contact. The children were able to give examples of each of these words. The statements we created will be displayed in our classroom.

We went on a scavenger hunt around school! The children were tasked to collect things that represented the statements they were given.

In Maths this week we have been focusing our learning around the 2 and 5 times tables, representing these in different ways. The children have been applying their reasoning and problem solving skills too. 

We spent time in phonics learning the alphabet and considering the letter names as well as the letter sounds. The class ordered the alphabet and learnt about the different alphabet groups.
